We would like to thank Jennifer Walsh for inviting us to answer a few questions about our writing process. Jennifer was recently welcomed into the Talcott Notch Literary family, and we share the same lovely agent, Rachael Dugas. Stop by Jennifer's corner of the book block to find out about her new historical YA novel Captive, it's sure to be a hit!

What are you working on?
Jess and Stephanie are currently editing their middle grade mystery The Secret Files of Fairday Morrow for Delacorte/ Random House. The book will be released in August of 2015.
How does your work differ from others of its genre?
The Secret Files of Fairday Morrow began as a children's picture book written in rhyme, entitled Ruby Begonia and the High-Heeled Sneakers. Jess and Stephanie took the legend behind that story and crafted it into a chapter book, with Ruby's story being uncovered by two clever, young detectives named Fairday and Lizzy. Our story has a certain element of magic, which really brings the mystery to life. The rest you will have to find out for yourself!
Why do you write what you do?
We both love, love, love stories and myths- legends and folklore. Books are the physical proof of magic, and it's amazing to dive into words and ideas, including your own! So read, write, and imagine- there's nothing finer. :)
How does your writing process work?
Stephanie and Jess have been friends for a long time, so they write together in the same fashion that they used to waitress together when they were teenagers- very efficiently with no thought to offending the other- it's an extraordinarily fun and perfectly lovely experience!
Thanks for stopping by!
